트럼프의 전쟁 목표달성 선언은 더 큰 패배에서 벗어나기 위한 꼼수다.
트럼프는 이란에 대한 불법적인 침략전쟁을 일으켜 놓고 안팎으로 곤란한 처지가
되자 “이란을 정치군사적으로 완전히 초토화 했고, 핵무기를 괴멸시켰다”며 전쟁목표를 달성했다고 주장했다. 그러나 겉으로 화려한 포장을 했지만 더 큰 패배를 당하기 전에 발을 빼려는 속셈일 뿐이다.
지난주 미국에서는 800만 명이 노킹스 반전시위에 나서고, 지지율은 33%로 곤두박질치며 거센 역풍이 불고 있다.
동맹인 프랑스, 스페인, 이탈리아도 불법 전쟁에 기지를 빌려줄 수 없다며 협조를 거부하며 등을 돌리고 있다.
특히 이란의 강력한 미사일 공격으로 항공모함의 발이 묶이고, 험준한 산맥 때문에 지상전도 하기 어려운 조건에서 미군은 이러지도 저러지도 못하는 진퇴양난에 빠져있다.
대형사고는 자기가 치고, "호르무즈는 우리와 상관없는 일이니 한국, 일본, 유럽이 알아서 하라"며 뒤처리를 다른 나라에 떠넘기고 있다. 참으로 뻔뻔한 처사다.
세상이 바라는 강대국의 품격과 신뢰가 호르무즈 해협에 침몰하고 말았다.
트럼프는 파병요구가 거부당하자 전쟁비용을 분담하자고 압박하고 있다.
이재명 정부는 파병뿐 아니라 전쟁비용 청구서도 거부하길 바란다.
트럼프의 전쟁 목표달성 선언은 패배에서 벗어나기 위한 꼼수이며, 미국의 일극패권이 무너지는 소리이다.
인류는 상호 주권을 존중하고 협력하는 다극시대를 본격적으로 열어갈 것이다.
광주평화연대는 4월 4일(토) 오후 4시, 5.18민주광장에서 <침략전쟁 중단, 파병반대 평화행동>을 진행할 예정이며, 세계 평화와 정의를 위해 끝까지 행동할 것이다.

이재명 정부는 트럼프의 파병요청에 반대입장을 분명히 밝혀라!
이란과의 전쟁이 길어지면서 미국은 압도적인 승리도 어렵고, 마음대로 끝낼 수도 없는 난처한 입장에 몰려있다.
그래서 혼자서 안되니 물귀신 작전으로 다른 나라들을 끌어들이려고 한다.
사고는 자기가 치고, 뒤치다꺼리는 남에게 맡기는 파렴치한 방식으로 한국에 파병압박을 가하고 있다. 심지어 "전쟁을 돕지 않으면 좋지 않은 미래가 있을 것이다"라며 협박성 발언까지 하면서 말이다.
현재 호르무즈 해협 안에는 우리나라 수송선 26척이 있다. 만약 파병이 결정된다면 미사일 공격에 노출되어 안전을 보장받기 힘들어진다.
트럼프는 중동에 있는 자기 국민들에게 철수령을 내리면서 남의 나라 국민들은 죽음의 바다로 끌어들이고 있다. 참으로 비겁하기 짝이 없다.
트럼프는 지도자와 175명의 초등학생을 폭격으로 잃어버린 이란을 향해 "재미 삼아 더 공격할 수도 있다"라는 망언도 서슴지 않고 있다.
마치 전쟁을 게임처럼 여기며 인간의 존엄과 생명의 가치를 짓밟고 있다.
세계는 도덕도 국제법도 무시하며 스스로 몰락의 길을 재촉하고 있는 미국의 운명을 생생하게 목격하고 있다. 미국이 독주하던 일극 패권시대가 끝나고, 상호존중과 협력, 평등과 평화가 실현되는 다극시대로 나아가고 있다.
이란은 3개의 험준한 산맥이 천연요새처럼 둘러싸고 있어 지상전도 힘들다.
극초음속 미사일 때문에 항공모함도 접근을 두려워한다. 트럼프가 기대했던 이란의 반정부 시위도 없다. 그토록 욕심냈던 노벨평화상도 물 건너 갔다. 뿌린대로 거둔다.
이재명 정부는 우리 국민의 생명과 국가이익을 위해 트럼프의 파병압박을 단호하게 거부해야 한다. 우리는 세계 평화애호인들과 함께 불법적인 침략전쟁에 맞서 전쟁반대 평화수호의 기운을 높이며 새 시대를 열어 갈 것이다.

홍콩 민주화운동 지도자 지미 라이의 즉각 석방을 촉구한다
(사)아시아법률자원센터(ALRC)는 홍콩 당국의 자의적인 법 집행을 규탄한다.
지난 2026년 2월 9일, 홍콩 법원은 『빈과일보』(Apple Daily, 蘋果日報) 창업주 지미 라이(黎智英)에게 징역 20년이라는 가혹한 중형을 선고했다. 또한 같은 신문사 편집진 6명에게도 6~10년씩 징역형을 선고했다. 78세 고령의 언론인에게 내려진 이 판결은 명백한 '사법적 살인'이며, 홍콩의 언론 자유와 법치주의가 완전히 붕괴되었음을 전 세계에 알린 비극적인 사건이다.
우리는 대한민국 광주를 기반으로 활동하며 아시아 전역의 인권과 사법 정의를 위해 노력하는 단체로서, 과거 국가폭력에 맞서 민주주의를 지켜냈던 역사를 통해 오늘날 홍콩 시민들이 겪고 있는 고통이 결코 타인의 일이 아님을 알고 있다.
이에 우리는 광주 정신의 핵심인 '연대와 정의'의 이름으로 다음과 같이 요구한다.
1. 홍콩 당국은 지미 라이와 그 관계자들에 대한 반인권적 판결을 즉각 철회하고 그를 무조건 석방하라.
인도적 배려조차 없는 20년형 선고는 국제 인권 규범에 대한 정면 도전이다. 고령의 지미 라이가 가족의 품으로 돌아갈 수 있도록 즉각적인 조치를 취해야 한다.
2. 중국 정부는 홍콩의 사법 독립성을 보장하고 일국양제의 약속을 이행하라.
언론의 입을 막고 법원을 정권의 하수인으로 전락시키는 행위는 국제사회에서의 고립만을 자초할 뿐이다.
3. 대한민국 정부와 국제사회는 홍콩의 민주주의 회복을 위해 강력하고 실효적인 행동에 나서라.
광주가 외롭게 싸울 때 세계가 손을 내밀었듯, 이제 우리가 홍콩 시민들의 곁에서 민주주의와 인권이라는 보편적 가치를 함께 지켜내야 한다.
(사)아시아법률자원센터는 지미 라이를 비롯한 홍콩 민주 인사들이 자유의 몸이 되는 그날까지, 아시아 시민사회와 함께 연대하는 것을 멈추지 않을 것이다. 광주의 오월 정신은 오늘 홍콩의 거리와 감옥 속에서도 살아 숨 쉬고 있음을 잊지 말라.

Call for the Immediate Release of Jimmy Lai, Leader of the Hong Kong Democracy Movement
The Asian Legal Resource Center (ALRC Korea) condemns the Hong Kong authorities’ arbitrary enforcement of the law.
On February 9, 2026, a Hong Kong court handed down a harsh sentence of 20 years in prison to Jimmy Lai (Lai Chee-ying), founder of Apple Daily (蘋果日報). Additionally, six members of the newspaper’s editorial staff were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 6 to 10 years. This ruling against a 78-year-old journalist is an explicit "judicial murder" and a tragic event that signals to the world the complete collapse of press freedom and the rule of law in Hong Kong.
As an organization based in Gwangju, South Korea, dedicated to human rights and judicial justice across Asia, we know through our own history of defending democracy against state violence that the suffering currently experienced by the citizens of Hong Kong is by no means someone else’s concern.
Therefore, in the name of "Solidarity and Justice," the core values of the Gwangju Spirit, we demand the following:
The Hong Kong authorities must immediately withdraw the anti-human rights rulings against Jimmy Lai and his associates and release him unconditionally. A 20-year sentence without even basic humanitarian consideration is a direct challenge to international human rights norms. Immediate measures must be taken so that the elderly Jimmy Lai can return to the arms of his family.
The Chinese government must guarantee the independence of Hong Kong’s judiciary and fulfill the promise of "One Country, Two Systems." The act of silencing the press and reducing the courts to mere puppets of the regime will only result in self-inflicted isolation from the international community.
The South Korean government and the international community must take strong and effective action to restore democracy in Hong Kong.
Just as the world reached out to Gwangju when it was fighting alone, we must now stand by the citizens of Hong Kong to protect the universal values of democracy and human rights together.
The Asian Legal Resource Center will not stop standing in solidarity with Asian civil society until Jimmy Lai and other Hong Kong pro-democracy figures are free. Do not forget that the May Spirit of Gwangju lives and breathes today in the streets and prisons of Hong Kong.

U.S. Must Immediately Stop Aggression Against Venezuelan Sovereignty and Oil Looting!
People who were making New Year's wishes were horrified by the abduction of President Maduro committed by the United States. Trump has cast off his mask as a "pacifist" who claimed to work for the end of the war in Ukraine, revealing his true face as an aggressor and a plunderer to the entire world. A president of a nation is trampling a smaller country using the language of a mobster, saying, "Mess with me and you'll die." The arrogance of the empire is reaching its peak, as they plan to dispatch Secretary of State Rubio as a "Governor-General" for colonial rule and issue assassination threats to the Venezuelan Interior Minister, saying he "could lose his life." We strongly condemn the United States for disregarding international law and invading a sovereign state.
The "war on drugs" claimed by Trump is merely a pretext. The truth lies in his hegemonic ambition to block the influence of China and Russia in Latin America and solidify U.S. dominance through resource plundering. Venezuela is a resource-rich nation with the world's largest oil reserves (300 billion barrels), 8,000 tons of gold, and abundant rare earth minerals.
The U.S. is in a desperate situation where it must seize other countries' resources and wealth to escape an economic crisis characterized by a 60-quadrillion-won fiscal deficit and daily interest payments of 13 trillion won. Consequently, they lack the conscience or leeway to care about international opinion. Even Greenland, a Danish territory that Trump has openly eyed for seizure, is targeted because of its oil, rare earths, and strategic importance in the Arctic shipping route era.
This cold international reality is not just someone else's problem for South Korea. Last year's arrest of Hyundai Motor employees in Georgia and the nightmare of tariff bombs may only be the beginning. Trump’s abusive remark—"The South Korean government can do nothing without my permission"—could become a reality at any time. To Trump, South Korea could become another Venezuela.
Trump must immediately stop the illegal invasion of sovereignty and oil looting!
The U.S. must release President Maduro immediately!
Stop the colonial conspiracies that brought misery to humanity in the 20th century!
The citizens of Gwangju will fight against Trump’s violence for the sake of human peace and justice.
